In our younger days, it was all about 'who was best". We competed in "Battle of the Bands" contests. We would show up at "cattle call" auditions where we would be judged against other bands to vie for a gig at a school dance or show. I was even compared to the other drummers in my high school when trying out for the dance band or orchestra. Fortunately we learn as we mature.
These days I look back with fondness and appreciation for all the musicians I've had the pleasure of working with throughout the years. And yes, I'll admit that some of you were more trouble than you were worth (I'm sure you feel the same about me..hahaha). But taken as a whole, I'm richer for the experiences. I've learned from many of you and shared what I learned with many others. We're a musical family. Thanks my brothers and sisters. You've made me a better performer.
I hope you enjoy the pictures in the slideshow. They are memories of friends and musicians I've had the pleasure of performing with since I began this adventure in 1961. They are pros, semi-pros and amateurs. But they all share my love of performing and I'm proud to call them friends!
